Please reach us at info@gulfcoastbh.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
The most efficient way to refill your prescription is to attend ALL scheduled appointments. We generally schedule your appointments to coincide with your medication refills. However, if you need a refill between visits, please contact your pharmacy directly. The pharmacy will notify our office electronically and we’ll refill your prescription within three (3) business days. If you are on a stimulant medication, FL § 456.44(3)(d) requires us to see you at regular intervals, not to exceed 3 months (90-days).
While it is very important that you attend all of your scheduled appointments, we understand that there may be times when you must reschedule. Since we have set time aside specifically for you, we ask that you call us 24 hours in advance if you need to change it. Should you need to cancel or reschedule with less than 24 hours’ notice, you may be subject to a late cancellation fee.
Our providers are contracted with most major insurance companies. Please visit the Insurance tab on the main menu for more information.
You are expected to pay in full for each session upon arrival of your visit unless other financial arrangements have been made prior to the appointment. In addition, you must pay any outstanding balances due from missed or late-canceled appointments, phone conversations, or deductible or co-insurance amounts that have been posted since your last appointment. You can view the current fee schedule in the Intake Forms found on the Patient Forms page. If your financial situation changes during the course of treatment, please let us know immediately and we’ll try to work out acceptable arrangements. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, personal check, and cash (exact change only).
In the case of an emergency (something that needs to be done right away to avoid possible injury or loss of life), please call 911 immediately. If you have an urgent need that is not life threatening, please call our office at (727) 726-7442. If the call is received during business hours, we will route your message to your provider. If you call after business hours, we will retrieve the message the following business day.
You and your provider will develop a treatment plan that details how often you need to meet and how long your sessions will be. The initial session will be 45-60 minutes. Follow up sessions will vary from 15-60 minutes depending on the type of treatment you are receiving.
No! Our office electronically prescribes all medications to your preferred pharmacy, including controlled medications.
An Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) is a clinical nurse specialist (CNS) that has met higher educational and clinical practice requirements beyond basic nursing education and licensing requirements for registered nurses. A Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is qualified to address both the psychiatric and medical needs of patients and is able to diagnose, treat, and prescribe medications at their discretion.
Therapy, also called psychotherapy, is a method of treating mental and mood disorders. Therapists use a range of techniques to create communication and behavioral change. These changes are designed to improve the mental health of a client.
Psychiatry, which is also a method of treating mental and mood disorders, is practiced by a medical doctor or nurse practitioner. The additional medical expertise allows the psychiatrist or nurse practitioner to better understand the medical scope of your trouble and prescribe medication, if appropriate. Often, we’ll recommend that you attend therapy and psychiatry sessions as part of your treatment.
Doctors and nurse practitioners do not have to be Board certified to practice medicine. However, Board certification ensures that your provider has met the highest criteria within their respective specialty. All of our doctors are certified through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) and our nurse practitioners are certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
Our office may recommend disability after the patient has been evaluated over the course of a few sessions. Please bring the paperwork with you to your appointment. Please review our current fee schedule in the Intake
Forms (found on the Patient Forms page) for the cost associated with completing this paperwork.
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, personal checks, and cash (exact change only).
Yes! We do offer telehealth appointments for existing clients only. Please visit our Telehealth Appointments page from the main menu for more information.
